Blog

Hi All - So, back in 2011, when I returned to the art world, I set up this website with FASO (love them), and wrote a few blogs.  And then...well, I went back to corporate work.  That was definitely the key item that stopped some of this (but still a bit of an excuse...ha). I have now been retired since 2019, so think it's time to return to at least an occasional blog. Thus..this is one (ta da)

Teaching is always such a fulfilling part of my art world, and I began again with some private classes in my home studio this past spring and summer as well as a class through Curtis Center for the Arts in Greenwood Village, CO. I hope to start a group class in a month or so in my home studio plus a couple of returning students in October. Absolute fun!

Currently I am still very involved in the Pastel Society of Colorado as Co-President, and looking for a new Co-President for 2023. I have just entered two smaller paintings into our Member's Show which will open at the Great FrameUp in Longmont on 8/12 (attaching them). These are 14x14 and 12x18, so MUCH smaller than my typical work. If you can attend or get up there during the run, please do. We also have an exhibit at the BitFactory for Pastel Society of Colorado Signature/Master Members in Denver in October, which I will enter with 3 larger works (more my style). I will post more on that later.

Other than that, time in the garden and always, always taking more photographs for future work.  Oh, have to include a picture of Degas, my 10 year old very large Standard Poodle (93 lbs)...he's a lover!

Take care all and hope you're enjoying your summer!  Ivadell Marie
